I read something on the internet about parents using tickling to punish their kids. One mother wrote that she, her husband, and their other children would gang up/have court on a child who had done something wrong and decide if they would be punished and how long it would last. The mother would then give her child a bath and walk them naked (yeah, naked) to the guestroom where the family has a hospital bed and tie the child to be punished with medical restraints. The child's siblings kiss them before they and their mother start tickling the punished child all over for a period of ten minutes or longer.
Another person wrote that when she lived with her aunt she was always punished by (again) being tied naked to a bed for hours and tickled senseless. She said that this caused her to have great relationship with her aunt and that sometimes the tickling was so intense that her stomach would hurt for days.
Is it just me, or are these people sick and wrong. They say that tickling is a good substitute for spanking when it comes to punishing, and that it's used in orphanages around the world, but I don't know, I think it's pedophilia and child molestation. What do you think? I'm desparate to know if I'm the only one who feels this way about tickling used as a punishment. It makes me sick to my stomach to know that parents treat their kids that way and it makes me cry for the children. Please comment! I really want to know what you have to say about this!!
